II. Site Design

We will design a custom web site for your business or organization that accurately reflects the image you wish to promote online. Our pages are never cookie-cutter sites created with canned templates. The custom web page(s) included in our standard packages contains the following elements:

1. Personalized Consultation
Communication is the key to a client's successful move to the web. Our packages feature introductory consultation sessions, during which we acquaint you with important Internet concepts and answer any questions you have about the medium. We also use this session to discuss and clarify the goals of your web page so we can insure that our design and promotion of your page best meets your business objectives. We will draft the rough layout of your web page with you during our initial consultation, however we pledge to fine-tune our product until it meets with your complete satisfaction.

We'll advise you on ways to increase your Web site traffic as well as help you design your Web site for maximal effectiveness. We won't oversell you on something you don't want or need. But we'll help you determine what is right for your company and your emerging Web marketing strategy.

2. Text / Content
Each web page can hold much more text than any printed page. This means you are not limited by the constraints of the printed page. In fact, you could make each web page infinitely large. But there are practical limits! If your page is too big, viewers will simply give up trying to navigate through the confusion. We recommend that you make your page not more than three to five "screens" long. This way each page's content can be focussed and effective. You will need to supply your written copy to us in final form on a diskette or via e-mail. You can include up to 750 words per page as a part of your package. Any amount above that will be charged at our hourly rate.

If you do not have your copy in digital form, we can convert printed materials to digital form. As this is fairly labor intensive, we will only convert 200 words per page as a part of your package. Any amount above that will be charged at our hourly rate.

3. Images and Custom Graphics
We design a custom-designed masthead with each of our Web site packages. This masthead is displayed on the front page of your site and includes your logo and will reflect the appropriate image of your organization. If you have a site larger than one page, we also include another smaller version of your custom masthead to be used at the top of all other pages on your site.

Also included on multi-page sites is a navigation bar. This is an image map that helps viewers navigate your site without becoming lost. One of these navigation bars will be placed on each page of your site. You can click on any word in the navigation bar and it will take you to the other main sections of the site. You have the option of a horizontal navigation bar placed at the top of your pages or a vertical navigation bar placed in the left column of your pages.

A custom horizontal rule can be provided that aids in the layout of your site.

Beyond the custom graphics we generate (see above), you can include other images per page. Examples of images you might want to include are: a photograph showing your business as it appears from the street, a picture of your staff, product photos, custom text, or an electronic coupon. Graphics must exist in camera ready printed form or digital form. We can also scan images that you send to us via snail-mail. We will scan one image per page. Other sources of images are the stock photography resources such as Corbis, Corel, PhotoDisc, or Picture Quest. They can provide you with professional photographs at a minimum cost. Great care will be taken to adjust your images for optimal quality and maximum loading speed.

4. Custom Color Background
We will include a colored background consistent with your organization's color scheme. An example might include a band of color on the left margin with a white background for your main content or a custom texture or tiled image. We can match a color from your logo or letterhead to create a consistent look between your web page and your other business materials.

5. Email
Some form of e-mail account is provided with each of our packages. These range from e-mail aliasing where your e-mail is forwarded to your own personal e-mail account to multiple POP3 accounts for your employees.

6. Installing Your Web Pages
Once you've approved the layout and design of your Web pages, we install them in the Web space you've selected.

7. Updating
If you're brand new to the Web you'll want us to do the updating on your site for a while. We include in our fee minor updating over the first six months, up to one hour per Web page. This includes price changes, adding or deleting a sentence or paragraph, etc.

III. Hosting Service

1. Piggyback
We can piggyback your site on our site. The piggyback option is the most economical solution for smaller sites that have no other internet access. With this option, your web address, or URL (Uniform Resource Locator), will look something like this:

This piggyback option is cheaper than registering your own domain name, but it also makes your address harder for your clients to remember.

2. Your ISP
Your site can be placed on web servers where you already have space (your local ISP).

3. Our Servers
We can host your site on our servers with your own address (www.yourbusiness.com)

We have found that unique web addresses, or URLs (Uniform Resource Locators), improve the ease with which customers locate and remember our clients' web sites. Although owning your own "dot.com" is more expensive than piggybacking on our site, we highly recommend it. We believe that owning your own domain name conveys a higher level of professionalism.

If you would like an original web address for your business we must register a domain name with InterNIC for you. The fee for this service is determined by InterNIC and is priced separately from our site packages. If you have already registered a domain name for your web site please inform us, you will not be charged to reregister your name. The initial registration with InterNIC lasts for the duration of two years. We will handle all paperwork involved with applying for a URL for all sites hosted on our servers.

The charges for hosting your page are monthly and are listed as a separate charge in each package for this reason.

IV. Web Promotion and Marketing

There is no limit to your online customer base as long as your web page is correctly promoted. We have designed the marketing service included in the different packages to insure that you most effectively and economically reach your target web audience. Our marketing service promotes your business through:

1. Generation of Targeted Metatags
We will add keywords behind the scenes of your page which define its content. The keywords we place in the code of your page are hidden from browsers but legible to webcrawlers. These mega search engines scan the web like giant spiders looking for important terms and indexing relevant web pages in their databases, including yours!

2. Registration of your Page with Search Engines and Indices
We will register your web page with the top 18 search engines including Yahoo, Infoseek, AltaVista, and HotBot. By registering your web page according to category we insure that the audience you are targeting will find your page when searching by subject or keyword.
